MLS football giants Atlanta United have reportedly made an offer to sign Luca Martinez Dupuy from Rosario Central from the Argentine top flight. Atlanta United recently made a big statement in MLS football with the signing of young Argentine attacker Thiago Almada from Velez Sarsfield in Argentina and it looks like they are not done with the big signings following the reported interest in Martinez Dupuy. For Almada, Velez Sarsfielddisclosed in December 2021 that they have reached an agreement to sign the young attacking talent in February 2022 and MLS football side Atlanta United confirmed the transfer earlier this week. It was revealed that Atlanta United paid a record transfer fee of $16m for Almada as far as MLS football is concerned.
Reliable journalist Cesar Luis Merlo confirmed the interest in Martinez Dupuy from the MLS as he revealed that Atlanta United are the said team. He added via his official Twitter account that Atlanta United have made a loan offer for the player with a purchase option. Martinez Dupuy was previously linked with a move to Club Atletico Talleres in the Argentineleague, but the Mexican-Argentinian player favours a move to the MLS.
Atlanta United have a very good transfer window till date and the squad is significantly better than the one from last season. Martinez Dupuy could potentially be a good signing for the MLS football team in the bid to add quality behind star man Josef Martinez in attack. Martinez Dupuy had a return of five goals and one assist in 24 appearances for Rosario Central in the 2021 season.
