              CAN LUIS AMARILLA FIRE MINNESOTA UNITED TO TOO 4 FINISH IN THR WEST?

Minnesota United head coach Adrian Heath is preparing to take control of the MLS All-Star side in Minnesota against the Liga MX All-Stars and will have two of his players at club level, Emanuel Reynoso and goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair, available to him. The attacking midfielder, Reynoso, has been a star for Minnesota United and recently has been hitting his peak form. After a slow start, Reynoso has nine goals and three assists (Transfermarkt) while Minnesota sits fourth in the Western Conference, 10 points off Austin in second and only five points clear of 11th place side Vancouver Whitecaps.

Both conferences are incredibly tight for a number of sides trying to break into the playoff places come the end of the season.  All sides still in the mix have been evaluating their squads and many making additions during the secondary transfer window which closed last week. Minnesota United have shown that their attacking link-up play and in their past six games they have managed to score 15 goals. DELIA SET FOR LIEGE JOB

Former Celtic boss Ronny Delia is set to take the managerial job at Standard Liege in the Belgian top flight. It has been revealed that Delia is set to leave MLS football side New York City FC for Standard Liege. Sports journalist Mario Reinosoconfirmed that Delia will leave MLS football side New York City FC to join Standard Liege.


Standard Liege managed to see off English Championship side Blackburn Rovers to agree a deal for Delia. The Norwegian manager has been looking for a move back to European football and Belgian side Standard Liege have given him that opportunity.                           ORLANDO CITY VS PORTLAND TIMBERS: TALKING POINTS

Orlando City drew 1-1 with the Portland Timbers in a tough road match in which Orlando was missing key players due to international duty. Conceding a late penalty kept Orlando from taking all three points, but a draw in Portland is not the end of the world given the circumstances.


Here are two takeaways from the Lions’ draw with the Timbers.

Late Mistake Proves Costly

It seemed as though Orlando might be able to sneak out with two wins in two weeks playing on the west coast, however crucial mistakes late in the game meant Orlando drew with Portland. The most important mistake came in the 80th minute when Andres Perea committed a foul that led to a penalty kick. Timbers midfielder Cristhian Paredes put the ball in the back of the net to convert the penalty and level the game.

ATLANTA UNITED MAKE OFFER FOR DUPUY

MLS football giants Atlanta United have reportedly made an offer to sign Luca Martinez Dupuy from Rosario Central from the Argentine top flight. Atlanta United recently made a big statement in MLS football with the signing of young Argentine attacker Thiago Almada from Velez Sarsfield in Argentina and it looks like they are not done with the big signings following the reported interest in Martinez Dupuy. For Almada, Velez Sarsfielddisclosed in December 2021 that they have reached an agreement to sign the young attacking talent in February 2022   and MLS football side Atlanta United confirmed the transfer earlier this week. It was revealed that Atlanta United paid a record transfer fee of $16m for Almada as far as MLS  football is concerned.

On Martinez Dupuy, the Atlanta United transfer rumours have been circulation for some weeks now as it was consistently reported that a team in the MLS wants to sign him. Atlanta United official Darren Eales was recently pictured watching a Rosario Central game thus fuelling the transfer reports.
