MLS football outfit Atlanta United are closing in on the signing of an experienced Argentine striker as the club tries to back new manager Gabriel Heinze with the new players ahead of the 2021 season in MLS football. ORLANDO/NEW YORK CLASH, GOOD MLS ADVERT

 

 

MLS football is in the spotlight again after the maniac playoff game between Orlando City SC and New York City FC at the weekend. The two teams met in the first round of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference and the game was not short on drama. In the end, the playoff match has been a good advert for MLS football as it has brought added attention to the league.

Hosts Orlando City beat their opponents 6-5 during penalty shootout to secure their place in the last four as far as the Eastern Conference is concerned. The two clubs had played a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time and the scoreline remained the same after 30 minutes in extra time.

SILVA BIDS FAREWELL TO MAN CITY

 

Manchester City ran-out 5-0 winners over Norwich on the final day of the EPL season. It also marks the final league appearance for veteran David Silva. The Citizens put on a fine display against the bottom side despite having nothing to play for.


City were given a scare in the 8th minute. Norwich took the lead through Hernandez, but after consultation from VAR, the goal was disallowed for possible offside.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto extends support to doctors and health care workers

 

LA Galaxy coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto has extended his support to the doctors who are fighting against the coronavirus pandemic. The infectious disease has already infected more than 1.5 million individuals around the world, while the United States has had more than 500,000 affected. There have been more than 100,000 deaths around the world. As a result, all forms of activities have come to a standstill with different parts of the world in forcing lockdowns in different degrees. One of the first states to introduce lockdown in the United States was California and the state is reaping rewards by being able to control the spread of the disease.


As a result of the MLS being suspended, there is no activity at LA Galaxy. Still, the coach took time to send out a personal message to thank the doctors who have been working tirelessly in order to help the nation recover from the problem. Apart from the message, the LA Galaxy team is also ramping up donations in fight against the disease. After a brilliant 2019 campaign in which LA Galaxy were able to finish top of the Western Conference and reach the MLS Cup, the team have made an unbeaten start to the 2020 campaign.
