Three players from Sporting Kansas City were named in the MLS football Team of the Week powered by Audi earlier this week. The Sporting Kansas City trio of Johnny Russell, Gadi Kandi and Daniel Salloi were rewarded with a place in the best players list for week 29 following their respective performances during the 4-2 win at home to Houston Dynamo as far as MLS football is concerned.
Scottish player Russell made the starting XI after he found the back of the net twice during the Houston Dynamogame to become the first Sporting Kansas City player to score in five successive regular season matches since club legend Preki achieved the feat in the inaugural MLS football season for the club in 1996, while Salloi and Kinda were on the bench. Salloi is a candidate for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in MLS football this season and he strengthened his case with a goal and an assist during the home clash with Houston Dynamo encounter.
